Colic is the general term for abdominal pain in the horse.  The severity of cases of colic can range from mild to potentially fatal. It is a common cause of death in horses and ponies. It is very important to treat cases of colic as potentially serious.

Exertional myopathy in horses is a syndrome of muscle fatigue, pain, or cramping associated with exercise. Exertional rhabdomyolysis can be either sporadic, with single or very infrequent episodes of exercise-induced muscle necrosis, or chronic, with repeated episodes of rhabdomyolysis.

Laminitis is a painful condition of horse due to inflammation of laminae (a delicate tissue in the hoof) resulting in lameness if not treated in time.  As the laminitis progresses, coffin bone rotates and perforates through the sole of the hoof and digital phalanx also rotates. Obesity, excessive grain or pasture, hormonal deficiencies, trauma and stress are predisposing factors.
